Wooden beer cask with a brass tap in warm pub light

Cask Craft Beer Taproom

Twelve rotating taps under vaulted brick — and a courtyard for the long evenings.

From the cask — what’s pouring

The tap wall never sits still

Around twelve lines, rotating constantly: pale ales and pilsners when the sun’s on the courtyard, stouts and strong stuff when the vaults do their thing. Sours, seasonals, the odd cask-inspired experiment — neighbourhood breweries and friends from further afield.

Every keg gets an English tap note — style, strength, what to expect. When a line kicks, it’s gone; ask what just came on instead.

Not feeling the draft? The bottle and can fridge keeps its own quiet rotation.

The vault & the courtyard

Two rooms, two moods

Receding arches of a brick-vaulted cellar with a cobbled floor
The Vault Low brick vaults, warm light, the good kind of echo. Long tables made for quiz night and long conversations.

The Courtyard When the weather plays along, the garden takes over — benches under the arcade, leaves on the table, glasses that empty themselves.

Finding the door

It’s a hidden pub. That’s the point.

Cask sits a step off the market square, tucked behind a passage arch — a proper neighbourhood shortcut. No big sign, no queue of tourists. Here’s the way in:

  1. Come off the square into Cooper Street — one short stretch, easy to miss, that’s fine.
  2. Find No. 14. Look for the passage arch in the row of façades.
  3. Walk the passage — through the archway and into the courtyard.
  4. Follow the amber light down into the brick. If you can hear a quiz, you’re on time.

Cooper Street 14, Millbridge

Tip: if the courtyard looks like someone’s flat, you’re in the right passage — keep going.
